• Leucojum vernum belong to the family Amaryllidaceae
• The local habitat of the Spring Snowflake is in central and southern Europe, from the Pyrenees to Romania and western Russia
• Will usually be 16-20 cm high
• Blooming sometime between mid-February to mid-May
• Two variants of the Spring Snowflake are: Leucojum vernum var. vernum, with green spots on the tip of the flowers and Leucojum vernum var. carpathicum, which has yellow spots on the tip of the flowers.
• Spring Snowflake like best to grow   in moist loamy soil in the large
  deciduous forests around the Mediterranean
• Propagation is done through the side bulbs or seeds
• Planted in groups about 12 cm deep

• Will usually be about 40 cm high
• Blooming sometime between early April to late May
• Two variants of the Summer Snowflake are: Leucojum aestivum ssp. aestivum and Leucojum aestivum spp. pulchellum, which is slightly below about 20 cm.
• Summer Snowflake like best to grow   in moist loamy soil in the large
  deciduous forests, on river banks and to some extent on the edge of a swamp. 
• Propagation is done through the side bulbs or seeds
• Planted in groups about 12 cm deep
